Hi there,

We have just bought a 2002 2.0 petro auto Rav 4,

On the way back to Essex from Kent where i picked the car up from, the windscreen got a nasty crack in it,

Next day new windscreen, valet, then flat batery. So a new Battery.

Decided to put new tyres on, then told, you need new brake pads mate. OK OK.

Took the car to Eastbourne yesterday, and 80 miles later the engine management light comes on.

We stop, check what we can, all sounds OK.

Called out RAC, fault code P0750 Shift solenoid A malfunction ?

He reset the code, but it was now rough shifting gears and after a while the light came on again.

He said you can drive back home, 101 miles, but take it easy.

Nearly 3 hrs at 55 mph.

E-mailed just answer toyota, they say that in the US it is covered under a warrenty, lets see if it is the same in UK.

I have noticed a few people appear to have had probs with auto`s at around 50,000 miles ?

Any body have any thoughs on this code and problem.

Any help would be apprciated.

LCC.

Ye - I've noticed a handful of posts on the auto box failure - some put down to a faulty ecu?? Anybody know if this box is common to any other cars???
