Celica Alloys

Morning all,

Im looking to buy a new set of alloys.

Can anyone please advise what the wheel specifications are for a Gen-6 Imported Celica.

Im not sure where I can look to find out the details.

My mate said I should get a bigger offset on the back as Toyota rear wheels are set back a little into the arch.

No idea what this means......

Im after 17's btw cos I cant be bothered with the hassle/expense of 18's.

Also what looks better, multispokes like the rally cars or some snazzy 5 spokes.

Thinking of going for gunmetal grey as I cant guarantee I'd keep white dazzling clean.

My car is red :-)

Cheers

I'd recommend you look for the following:

5 x 100 PCD

7" wide

Offset of between 35 and 38.

I'm a fan of five spokes, Gunmetal with a S/S (not polished) lip would look good on Red, but whatever floats your boat.

HTH.

The higher the Offset figure, the more inboard the Wheel will sit in the Arch. Likewise the lower, the closer to the edge of the Wheel Arch. Too high an Offset can result in the Wheel not clearing the Brake Calipers, this is especially important on the GT4 with its large Calipers.

7" wide refers to the width of the Alloy, 205 or 215 refers to the width of the Tyre. Most Gen 6 owners going up to 17" in Wheel size opt for 215/40/17 Tyres.

this might be a stupid question but do any tyres fit any alloys?

if i got a 205 tyre or a 215 tyre, would they both fit the same alloy?

never bought alloys before so never really needed to think about this

Golf Mk4, Beetle, PT Cruiser, some Audi's, Seat's and Skoda's. Depending on the Offset some Imprezas too.
