Hi, I stumbled across this Head unit at my local Lidl store. It has bluetooth (A2DP streaming), additional mic, usb, sd, mmc, aux in, sub out, remote control, CD & radio etc. But the best thing is it allows you to record instantly to memory card in WMA or MP3 format. It's the first time I've seen one touch recording in a car head unit. 4x 40watt could be a little better, but at £40 I think it's excellent value

The manufacturer is Silvercrest and the model code is CRB-530

looks like a great deal, when ever i see these deals in lidl, there never in stock at my local branch.

Are there any which would incoporate the current bluetooth setup? I don't want to have a pointless/useless bluetooth thing at the top of the windscreen.

Ideally id like a system that would let me put more volume through the two front Speakers, add two Speakers into the lid of the boot and an underseat sub, can that be done?

AFAIK you can use ANY Aftermarket radio with the OEM bluetooth

setup, since it plugs in between the radio and car's harnesses...

Any recommendations then? I'd be looking at putting two Speakers in the lid of the boot and using a pioneer underseat sub, and ideally not replace the front Speakers.

I can only vouch for the system I have in mine: a Kenwod KDC-W7537U, hooked up to

the OEM Speakers and supported by a Pioneer TS-WX11A sub under the pasenger seat.

Turned on LPF to the sub, HPF to the Speakers and no more

distortion on higher volumes with quite some bass...

It also controls my iPod from the headunit AND I was

able to hook up an extra display from an Opel Corsa :D

how much did that cost? and would you be able to put in rear Speakers with that?

It was about €250 with the cable for the iPod, the subwoofer was about €150.

And nowadays you'd have a hard time fining a car radio that can only drive 2 Speakers, so yes, you CAN

connect a coupe of rear Speakers, I just don't see why you'd want the sound to come from the rear...

When you go to a concert you usualy FACE the music instead of turning your back...

My 2006 Aygo 5dr has the rear Speakers in the rear doorpockets, but I've got the fader

allmost all the way upfront. The only use for the rears (to me) is compensating for the

dampening effect the front seats have on the sound for any rear (and rare) passengers...

If you have a newer car you probably have speakers in the front doors to complement

those under the windshield (with the tweeters in the A-pillars), so if you swap headunits

the rear outputs will drive the door speakers, just as the OEM radio does now...

Speakers in the rear means that i hear music from all around and it will drown out the sheeee-ite that people talk when they are in my car ;)

Just don't take any people with you, saves on fuel too as it saves on weight... :D

I finally got around to fitting this head unit. The original wiring on the Aygo has the "12v Ignition on" and the "12v permanently on" wires the wrong way around from standard ISO fitment. I think thats maily because the standard Aygo head unit automatically turns itself off after 30mins if the ignition is off.

The CRB-530 head unit only works well without having sub directories in your files. i.e put all your music into one folder. You can easily search for your music by track number or name. I listed all my tracks alphabetically (I had to rename them on the PC first). The main control knob cycles through volume/options quickly, which makes up for the fact it has a mute button instead of an Attenuator (att) button.

Sound is pretty solid with enough noise to keep all but the fussiest of people happy at 4x40w. The Orange lit screen matches that of the aygo's dash and also automatically dims when the head lights are on, but you can deactivate this feature if you cut the green wire on the aygo's wiring loom.

bluetooth range is pretty good and streams music (A2DP format) well, so I can use the playlists already on my walkman phone. Must fit the additional microphone suppled and have a voice dailling capable phone to use the head unit's telephone features. Also lets you choose if you want to record to wma or mp3 format and allows you to set the default volumes for music and telephone calls independently. Best £40 quid I've ever spent

Aldi in Ireland are offering a similar unit (Tevion brand) this weekend. Have you tried the handsfree phone capability yet? Wondering what the sound quality is like.

Wondering what the sound quality is like.

Sound quality was pretty good when making calls. The manual says "Bluetooth: Versions 1.2 and 2.0; 7 profiles:A2DP, AVRCP, HSP, HFP" if that means anything to you. It's also one touch to transfer calls to and from the car back to the mobile.

It can support a 2gb SD/MMC card. I think the tevion can support 4gb SD card, but has an internal microphone.

hope you can help i have a new tevion stereio on my aygo but the programme memory is not being kept when i turn the car off. i know the yellow wire needs to be connected to the perminent 12v supply but this setup seems different from the toyota setup. anyone tell me which wire is the perminant 12v

many thanks

Common problem: you need to swap the red and yellow wires

on the connector for the radio, that should solve your problem.

Most after market radio's have a provision for doing this in the

little harness in the form of a couple of bullet connectors.
