Brakes Under Warranty?

Hi all, I bought at 51 plate celica from a toyota garage a month ago and was given 12 months warranty. The problem is i've noticed with the windows down, a metal grinding rubbing sound coming from the back wheels. I had a mechanic look at it who told me that the discs have corroded and worn and should be replaced. I told toyota about this who said it is not covered under warranty (I've only had the car 1 month). Is there anything i can say or do cos i'm pretty ****** off about it.

did they service it before you got the car, i would have thought they should have checked the brake disk and pads

i would take it back and make a big fuss, if that did not work see if they will give you a discount to change them as a good will gesture, you never know it might work. Good Luck

same thing happened to me, i ended up gettin mine replaced free of charge!

dont back down and make sure you can be heard if theres other customers around. you shouldnt buy a car from a main dealer and have to start replacing disks after a month.

any dealer saying isnt there problem is talking b*****ks

toyota customer relations may be worth a call or even trading standards

took it to toyota on friday. they are replacing the back discs and pads and the drivers seat belt system for free. They also put on new front discs and pads and said they are going to change the front shock cos they said it is bleeding. All for FREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE! result

Oh and i've painted the calipers red to finish off a good weekend!

Brakes & shock done. the ride feels a little firmer and the brakes are spot on. just waiting for the seat belt. I can now drive with the windows down without hiding my face and enjoy the noise
