Toyota Lose Our Trust. We Stop Bealiving In This Company

Whilst not wanting to deter Toyota owners from raising issues, I have asked this question once before (a while back) - is this a UK forum or worldwide forum? The reason I ask is that quite a lot of the posts on this forum are from overseas persons and often the model line up, engines, culture and spelling/grammar appear difficult for some of us to comprehend. Do overseas persons not have their own version of this forum? If so, do they post on those forums and/or this one?

Lol I think that's not Swedish text

צברה סוסיתא

אירית (במלעייל דגש על הא') "צברית" מצוייה

But anyways, I think that this is ToyotaOwnersClub, and anyone who owns a Toyota can join.

Ofcourse there are some difficulties, like spelling/grammar and the differences in model line up,

but I think it's worth it because it's much more people here now (when we're all here),

and that means more experience, opinions and advices, which I think are helpful for you too.

But if someone doesn't understand text written by non-Brits, why not to read only the one posted by English

people and ignore the other ones? But I think there won't be much text to read then...

By reading this forum now like it is, everyone can learn very much about their own cars,

and cars of another users, but then we all can also learn something about different cultures, traffic arrangements

in other countries, get to know wider range of people and what's most important: Make friends all over

the world!

I would like to say a few words about spelling/grammar -thing, not as a negative comment but more like

funny comment. When I'm reading this forum I do understand many non-Brits better than some British/Scottish

people, and it's not because my English is bad ;)

And now the answer to your last question: We have a Toyota forum called FinToys in Finland, but you have to pay to join it,

so I don't know anything about it! I think it's better when we all are in one palce, because there's only few Auris owners in

some countries, it's a lot easier to be on the forum where's more people who own the same car, not only you and two more

people. And hey, don't forget, we're all together in the European Union, so why not to be all together on this forum too? :)

Best regards, Alex

You seem to be living on another planet. Dunno what else I can say really.

Israel

One - the OLD version = 124 hp. with 5 speed gear. Second - the new-really new version = 132hp with 6 speed gear.

When you will buy. second-hand new Auris - What you will prefer :

the OLD-NEW or the NEW-NEW.

The one I can afford

and I will never-ever buy again a new car from TOYOTA because they fake me and I dont believe them any more .

My last post in this forum will be when to tell you all here that "I am not TOYOTA-OWNER anymore "

There is a 1.3 Yaris with a 5 speed gear box, and now a new 1.3 Yaris with a 6 speed gear box and a different new engine with more HP and better economy. Manufactures are researching and developing their products all the time. It’s up to you to do your research!

If you want to buy an iQ there is a new engine coming out in July, so don’t buy one now!

Lol man I LIKE you :thumbsup:

Whatever car you buy today it will be superseded by another newer bigger faster greener more gadget one next week/month/year.

Enjoy what you have now and look forward to your next car. You have a world of information at your keyboard, so do your background stuff first before you part with your hard earned money ;)

It’s no different to buying a digital camera or a new PC, next week it’s already out of date.

95% of people on here have an out of date car, even the new iQ owners. One has already been traded in only after a couple of weeks!

It’s a fact of life so get over it

Well, i would pay 500-1000 euro for the 6 speed box to be fitted to the now "old" 1.6 (probably can't), but 8 HP dont bother me. Also peak toruqe is lower at 4.400 RPM and not 5.200, so this new 1.6 engine will be less stressed and a quiter cruiser.

Auris2008-

Whilst this question is slightly off topic, can I please ask why you have added me to your collection of friends, especially as we have never spoken or communicated in any shape or form????

Or did you think that this might get you more support in your crusade against progress and evolution??

The 20% increase in power is only compared to the old 110 hp 1,6 - not the newer 124 hp as fitted to your Auris.

From 124 to 132 are only 8 hp's, but there is also a 6 speed gearbox.

But that is all in the 'new' 2009 Auris'. It won't affect resale price of your car much. Don't panic.

YES - I AM PANIC - Because I am old and Wise.

You don't get the point.

Maybe you are correct. but now it will be two version of Auris 1.6 engines in the market :

One - the OLD version = 124 hp. with 5 speed gear. Second - the new-really new version = 132hp with 6 speed gear.

When you will buy. second-hand new Auris - What you will prefer :

the OLD-NEW or the NEW-NEW.

Let say there will be 200 sterling deference between the two cars - Only a stupid will buy the OLD one with 124hp and 5 speed gear !!!

Then keep it yourself and live in the real world. EVOLUTION is where its at. :D

Mart.

I bought a new 1.6 SR only two months ago. Toyota were offering their 'Blue Moon' deal - 10% off plus 0% finance - the dealer knocked another £800 off without prompting.

The deal suited me at the time but there is always a reason for any company offering good deals (apart from the fact all manufacturers are desparate to sell cars)

I am a happy bunny - I have a good car at what I think is a fair price. Yes, a six speed box and a bit more power would be nice but I bet I would not get near the 15% discount I received.

I also purchased a 1.6SR with the same offer, but the dealer let me down at last minute and could not source car they had promised. After a bit of negotiating I got the new Auris 1.6 valvematic TR with mud flaps and mats thrown in as an apology and it was over a £1000 less than current list price and 0% finance! I am very happy, but I realise that in a years time it would have evolved further.....I am just grateful with what I have got now!

I think that's the result of evolution and marketing.

If you watch closely each brand, every year or every two years, there are always some adjustments.

Regarding closely, Auris was sent to the market on 2007, 2 years ago. I've also bought a 1.4 D-4D, on last December, aware that the 1.4 D-4D 6 gear box would be sent to the market this year. The same happened with Focus, Megane, etc.

Worse are some specific cases such as the Golf. Here in Portugal, in 2003, when released, the 1.9 TDI Conforline was for sale for 30.000€. In 2008, it was being sold at 25.000€!!! That's quite a difference in the price. Imagine you have a 2004 Golf, you paid 30 thousand, and now you want to sell it by half the price. For just a few extra euros, you may buy a 2006 or 2007 Golf, so, the buyers are loosing. I guess that "spirit" or situation is a lot worse than this.

Anyway I don't agree totaly with Toyota. For example, here in Portugal only the top versions have VSC, unlike UK and Spain, for example. Here the 1.4 D-4D Sol does not have Cruise Control or Start Stop, however 1.6 Petrol and 2.0 D-4D have, in the same equipment level...

These decisions I don't undersand. The car is not propertly cheap...

Then I have to be the most unhappy person on this thread - I got my Auris on 8th of December and now prices have dropped 18-22% (petrol/diesel)... So for less of what I paid for my Luna, I'd have bought Sol now :(

I'm sorry guys and girls, I got bored reading that thread so thought I'd have an input...

...It already been highlighted that cars change frequently now days, its not only the 1.6 engine in the auris that has changed but the 'OLD NEW' as you would say 1.4 vvti engine is now out in the cold and has been replaced by the new more powerful 1.33 engine...

As said time and again in todays market developement is essentail to manufacturers whether it happens 2, 4 or even every 6 years.

But as you say 'Auris2008' you are old and 'wise' so that must make me young and not so wise, I leave it to your own discretion.

Regards,

Miles

This thread is hilarious!

I agree with cabcurtains... i am going to complain that they stopped making the Corolla and replaced it with an Auris only to then dare to update the engines in the Auris...

It's just not on... every car should still have the same engine that was in the Ford Model T then everybody would be happy....

:lol2:

Mismatch and fake you??

Fooled you??

How? Engines are constantly being improved.... deal with it...

I don't ever remember Toyota making a claim that they would not improve their 1.6 engine...

The only "closed minded people" are the one's complaining about the engine evolving

;)

1997 Toyota released Corolla 1.3

1999 Toyota released Corolla 1.4 VVT-I

2002 Toyota released Corolla 2.0 D-4D 90cv

2004 Toyota released Corolla 1.4 D-4D 90cv, with similar performance, much lower price (almost 5000€ here in Portugal)

This is nothing new, specially on Toyota.

There are constantly upgrades on engines, or equipments, or gadgets, whatever.

The best one can do is get in touch with the web and get to know the next step. The 1.6 petrol, the 1.33, the 1.4 D-4D 6 gear were well known among the web on 2008. Knowing this, I've bought a 1.4 D-4D 5 gear on last december. The 6 gear would cost me a lot more this year.

I'm not justifying Toyota, however, this is nothing new... if there is a petition or something, I'll sign it. Today I've made my choice aware and with advantage, tomorrow I may not, so, count me in

TBH, and its been stated before, if you are that bothered then some research before buying any car pays dividens. often through looking around on the net you can pick up things like," facelift coming soon", "new model to be released xx/xx/xx"

at the end of the day toyota is competeing to stay alive in very tough times. because of this they will make changes and updates to keep their cars competitie in the market. introducing stop'n'start technology to make cars more fuel efficient, different trim levels, special editions etc.

you still havent told us what you expect toyota to do?

it is not just toyota that does this.

im complaining cos the new avensis has a 150bhp 2.0 diesel and i want it in my auris, its laughable.

please, get a grip and face facts its called life. its like buying a new house and then finding another company is building better cheaper houses in the same street!!

The new 2,2 D4D 150bhp Avensis Diesel is a derivate from the 2,2 D4D, this engine is also available with a 6-speed automatic transmission, this is the engine I would want in my Auris.

Maybe it will be awailable in the Auris next year.
