Just out of interest Paul approximately how much did you spend on those wheels and how much in total making the car lighter?

I think so far it has come to about the price of an Aygo Black with aircon, all in.

Aygo £6500

Toyota F1 springs - can't remember, £220 or so?

Corbeau seats £700

Rear torsion bar £100

Rays CE28Ns 14x6 list price £1500 to your door (but got a bit of a discount :-) )

Track tyres £240

Vinyl £110

I think those were the main costs. Haven't replaced the brakes or clutch and I've done about 26000 miles.

It doesn't cost you anything to remove the interior. It just unbolts or unclips---I still have mine in the loft ready to put back in if I sell.

Bargain at that price really, and you can get used Aygos these days which can save a few grand.

Paul.

Some well thought out mods there, nothing purely for cosmetic purposes. Have you considered putting it on a weighbridge so you can see how much weight you have lost?

I was wondering the other day how easy it would be to move the Battery to the spare wheel well in the boot to aid weight distribution?

Yes. The nice people at Track Developments weighed the full fat car first---it was 820kg with about 80% fuel on board, pretty much equal left / right with me in the driver's seat, and about 60% on the front and 40% on the back.

After removing interior, swapping seats, losing a bit of fuel, we are down to about 760kg. I think I might have posted something about this before. Memory is going :D

Possible, but the Battery is tiny! I would also then have to comply with regulations about not having cable joins and stuff in the cabin and so on. The Battery would have to be in a sealed box, and that would also add weight.

As I say, I think a stiffer front arb would be good, then I might wait a while to consider any more mods. I'm not sure adding more power would necessarily make it more fun, and by the time I had upgraded the clutch, gearbox and brakes as well as the engine it would get quite expensive.

Plus I quite like the fuel economy and green motoring thing
