Leather Interior

Hi, everyone! ;)

Does anyone know - how much does it cost to upgrade my RAV's cloth interior to a leather one?

I mean - how much would cost the interior (seats, door panels) and how much the work!?

And what would be better and/or cheaper - to ask the upholstery to make one

or

to order already sewn interior kit and just ask the upholstery to "dress"it up!?

Thanks for ur answers!

The dealer said it costs around 1200-1500 GBP. But you can get one at the upholsteries... don't know how much does it cost in GB, but in LATVIA it costs starting from around 1000 pounds (for 4 seats + doors).

dunno if Land of Leather have had their liquidation sale yet, but if ye keep yer eyes on the business press, theres bound to be another leather sofa company going bust - then just buy enough cheap sofas to do the job.

Dealers are not renowned as accomplished upholsterers so I'd stick to finding someone that is in that line of work - if they can sell leather suites for less than £400 then it must be possible to do the job well cheap. Have you tried looking around the fields anywhere near, cos this stuff grows on legs

haha that sofa's.

get the seat rimmed at an upholsterers then source the rest of the parts, or leather them at home if you have confidence(sp) that what my plan is :D

get a quote from D -class there work is amazing.

hope that gives you any help :D

Wait and get a set from eBay . . . if you do, the car will only be "off the road" for a few hours - there may be other issues going done the upholsterers route - but most importantly your car will still be driveable with a set from eBay! Plus you can sell your old seats and trim to offset the cost.

Where are you in "Europe", and which model (which year?) RAV4 do you have?

My dealer in Portugal contracted an independent upholsterer to give me exactly what I wanted for my 5-door 4.2, and it was fantastic. Cost 1200 euros through the dealer, perhaps 200 less if I'd gone directly (and now I have his contacts). This was seats and doors, no carpet. The plus of the dealer was that it was covered by Toyota (or dealer) warranty, I got it when new.

I think the 4.3 would be a bit different due to the design of the doors.

I have a 3-door Rav, year 2005! But have no idea about the exact model

honestly - its easier/cheaper to make your own and it can be in your chosen colour with even inlays etc!! Speak to any upholsterer or leather worker. Must be loads in Latvia??
