This looks like a 3 door RAV-4 NRG model judging from the wheel arch extentions. They stopped making 3 door RAVs a few years ago. It's also a 2nd gen or 4.2 version as they often call them on the forum.

I own an NRG and it's a very nice car, so Good Luck finding one to buy.

Thanks for your help! It seems as if I should be looking for 2003/2004 models, is there a big difference between NRGs and XT3s?

I just remembered that the XT3 was the direct replacement for the NRG. Externally the most obvious difference is the XT3 has round front foglights as opposed to rectangular, and the XT3 has white coloured side indicator casing instead of orange. The front grilles are also slightly different. I'm not sure if the XT3 has a rear roof spoiler, but the one in your picture doesn't look like it has. Inside all I know was the XT3 had steering wheel mounted audio controls, which the NRG doesn't.

I would say that is a RAV4.2 Facelift (2003-2006) judging by the wheel style and the VVT-i Badge above the indicators

A key difference between the 2000-2003 (RAV4.2) and 2003-2006 (RAV4.2 facelift) is the Airbags.

the facelift has seat airbags and curtain airbags as well as driver and front passenger. the first RAV4.2 just had the two front airbags.

Easy way to tell the difference at a glance is the original 4.2 has square fogs/indicators in bumper, the facelift has round fogs and indicators in headlamps.

somewhere (not sure) on the forum is a good summary of models and specs. One you posted looks very nice. How much?

Thanks, I did look at those pages, but still couldnt be sure which matched the car I posted above. Not sure if it makes a difference, but it was on a South African traders site...could the models differ over there from the UK?

Yes - very much so.

If you go on the Toyota GB site you can search all their second hand cars;

You'll probably find more headroom in the back of the SA models to accommodate giraffes :lol: :lol:
