I presume the Aygo is fitted with a cigar lighter, in order to fit mobile sat nav systems. John

I have tried to light a cigar from mine several times....never worked...it has a ickle hole where electric things come out of tho to make my sat nav women work but cigars no sadly not :(

There is an electrical socket, same as what would normally have been the lighter socket, but I think manufacturers have stopped putting the actual lighter in the hole.

Aygo's are obviously for non smokers hence the absence of an ashtray and cigar lighter.

God we are all so health concious

There are probably some European laws stopping them putting ashtrays and lighters in cars now.

You can buy an ashtray which goes in the cup holder. Same for the Yaris.

As for the ciggy lighter, it's standard fitment. So any old lighter should work. You can get fancy ally ones off eBay or Sh1tspeed/Halfrauds

But, why not consider using this as an opportunity to quit smoking and save yourself a fortune!

I think he was actually wanting it to charge his Tom Tom from

A lighter will NOT work in the 12V socket, since a lighter gets clipped down to heat up by a bimetal

clip in the lower part of the socket and the socket in the Aygo lacks this clip, so the lighter will not

be held down and current will not flow through it since the center contact will not reach...

You could try fitting a lighter socket instead of the exsisting socket, but then you might get problems with the

surrounding plastic not being able to handle the heat from the lighter socket (and the DO get VERY warm!)
