Hi all,

I finally passed my driving test at the ripe old age of 25 and am sooooo interested in buying the Aygo. It looks gorgeous and I have yet to read a negative review (doubt that will happen though!) I know the boot isn't a great size, my only question is will it fit a Maclaren buggy in and a Guitar?! I know it won't fit both at any one time!! Can anyone shed a little light?!

Thanks :D

You'll not get either in without folding the seats down.

Don't read this site if you want to avoid negative user feedback and don't search for "leak".

I was 29 when I brought my Aygo! Fold the rear seats and youll be fine!!

My Aygo hasnt skipped a beat since I brought it!

We have a McLaren Triumph, fits fine. The only problem is the parcel shelf which would catch and pop out of the location slot. Easily resolved by removing the shelf until the kids can be bothered to walk.

No idea about a guitar, I wouldn't anticipate any problem with height or depth (especially with the shelf removed) only question would be length, however I would expect it easily fit diagonally across the boot with the shelf out, of course this may not be suitable if you intend to leave it unattended and on view in the car in a public place. Best thing to do is take the guitar with you to the dealer and try it!

There aren't many buggies that fit in an Aygo unfortunately without folding down the seats.

I tried my friend's buggy and that wouldn't go into the boot without folding down the seats. We managed to get her 3-wheeler pram in the car by folding down a seat but it took her inside the car and me outside to get it out because of the narrow opening of the boot. I think doing this often would end up scratching the car to bits. The main problem with the Aygo is its very high boot lip so you will need to lift it high to get it out and in.

The first thing I will do when I have children is ditch the Aygo (partly as mine is a 3-door) as it just is not easy enough for mum on her own with baby, little one's stuff, shopping, the car seat and the buggy. In my opinion, Toyota et al made a very bad decision with making the boot lid very high and I think one inch bigger would make all the difference because the buggy I tried was so close to fitting.

There are people who do it but in my experience, it took ages to get the 3-wheeler out of the car and I wouldn't have wanted to do it by myself.

I realise that a buggy is smaller but you might have to compromise on what else you carry in the car.

I've gone from a 270 horsepower monster, to a iccle Aygo Blue.

I love the Aygo! The boot is the perfect size for shopping (I can get a trolleyfull in there no problem). The rear sits split, so you can fold one down for your buggy/guitar and still have room for a passenger in the back.

It's a great car! Sure there are problems, as with all cars. So have a good look through this forum and wise yourself up before you view an Aygo.

Oh, and when you drive one, you will definately fall in love, it drives as well as it looks! My wife came with me on my test drive and she fell in love too, so we bought one each!

I've had to reregister - problem with my 1st account! Thanks everyone, all very useful stuff. Off to the Toyota Dealership tomorrow and I can't wait.

My Maclaren pram question has been answered - I have 2 godchildren who both have that pram, so I know I can fit it in somehow when the come to stay!

As for the guitar question, does anyone mind telling me the length and width and height in inches of the boot?! I can't seem to find measurements anywhere!

I'm not sure of the dimensions, but as a guitarist, I can't imagine any of my guitars fitting in the boot without laying down the seats. Hope that helps :)

Oooooh thanks so much! My guitar case is only 44inches so should fit in no problem! Will take my trusty tape measure along tomorrow though.

Thanks for sharing your knowledge!

Picked up my Aygo Blue demonstrator today. 2 hours after getting home I found an extra cupboard behind the drivers seat; only then did I realise it was a five door and not a three !!!! I am NOT joking.

Why do you need a buggy? Simply leave the kid in the rear seat and push the car around the park.

That's what me and the wife did when Holly was younger.

Well I don't know about anyone else but I've managed to get a huuuuge rucksack and 3 man tent in the boot of mine without dropping the seats. I've just come back from a camping weekend with the scouts so I had another leader with me and two scouts in the back as well.

Yes... I did have to remove the parcel shelf but it hardly blocked the view at all.

Dead chuffed!!

Blimey I am shocked!

I did manage to get a crushed up double wardrobe and tall chest of drawers in mine today with the seats down to get it to the tip. I couldn't see out of the back though unsurprisingly.

Two large bags in the back of mine

Enough room to place a standard daysack in there too

Mrs Smoothound did a gig last Thursday - the acoustic + gig bag wouldn't fit in the boot, the aperture is about 1 inch too small :(

However, I didn't need to split the seats as it fitted OK by removing the parcel shelf :) I don't think you'd get away with this with a hard case.

Am going away on a six month course and have managed to put all my kit in my car.

Small fridge and a portable tv in the boot with my breakdown kit, Large plastic box on the back seat with my very large bag next to it and finally a small suitcase behind the passeger seat with my day sack in the passenger footwell
