picked it up today,

replaced my iQ which i had for 3 weeks, it was just too underpowered, should have had a longer test-drive, this feels way faster

have they done away with the deck board in the boot with the secret hidey hole this just has a normal boot.

Yes! Boot layout has been redesigned. The deck board thingy has been taken away as Toyota found that most owners removed it anyway. You should now have a bigger and more usable boot space.
