Tow Bar

Hi

All I want is a towbar for a few bikes - does it have to be wired and have such heavily applied bolting on?

Any ideas on prices for fitted - dealer and not.

Thanks

also, where is the service it yourself pics gone?

In my opinion it needs to be fixed well as it will impose a lot of load when going over bumps. Whether you need electrics depends on how much it obscures the lights. If it does in any way you should really have a ligh bar attached to the bikes.

Mountain bikes - thinking about it, quite heavy - maybe a roof option would be better

The reason I asked is the 'nose' weight on the tow bar is 75kg - and with a number of bikes loaded, and hitting a bump off road or sumpthin then it might just put loads on....then again I think the Roof Rack weight is 75kg as well. Shoving the stuff on the roof gives more chance of dinting the metal up there....so I suppose I'd plump for the rear door.

Advice appreciated - any ideas on where the servicing part of the forum went/

Thanks

Hi, i had a similar quandry. I went for a removable swan neck tow bar with a 3 bike Thule rack. Its a costly option but the best. The bike rack tightens securely on the tow bar and holds the bikes no problem. It has a single electric plug for the lighting board that came with the rack. Also while i'm riding i can place the rack in the boot and when i dont need the rack, the towbar can be removed in seconds and looks like it was never there. I think it is a witter towbar and it cost a lot cheaper than the toyota version.

Good hunting.

Was it?

If anyone can find it I'll pin it again.
