99 Starlet Air Con Problems

Hi all,

I've recently acquired my very own starlet, after driving one of my friends' starlets I just had to have one.

Only issued I've had with it thus far are dirty shoes (handbrake wasnt engaging very well) and now I've noticed the aircon just does not get cold.

I've run the air con on a warm day and also tested it on a cool night, ambient temperature does not make a difference.

Any ideas on what is going on here? The heater works fine.

I'm also wondering which parts in the engine I should be looking at to inspect for things like pipe corrosion and leaks.

Engine is a 4E-FE, on a 99 Starlet.

Oh.. and the car is green :)

Are you sure theres gas in the air con???
