Wheel And Tyre Weight?

Hello All,

Anyone know the weight of a 17" 5 spoke alloy and 225/65 tyre as fitted to '07 Rav? Just bought one off e-bay :) "Just in case" and will need to get it couriered to me as I don't fancy a six hundred mile round trip to collect it.

I'm pretty sure that last time I had wheels couriered I had to give the weight - can't remeber now. Any advice on cheapest method welcome.

various carriers will carry it as a pallet - but its not quite first class mail so speak to some of the parcel/package companies. I'd guess a price of less than £20

So long as it is less than 25Kg I can have it collected and delivered for about £15 but I need to give a weight. Anyone got a spare they could pop on the bathroom scales for me?

ehh . . there's usually one on each corner of the RAV that you could take off and weigh - just a thought!

Yeah, that's true but it is not an exact match for my wheels and I wouldn't want to risk the air weighing differently - I gather air is more rarified up in Rochdale where the wheel is ;)

If push comes to shove I will indeed weigh one of my own wheels but I wondered, on the off chance, if anybody happened to know the weight.

Bet Kingo would know but the only rubber he is likely to be worrying about at the moment is that around the air in his Lilo B)

You'll need to choose between MAK wheels, DARE wheels with slicks, and DAREs with 6 or 7 spokes. I can do an old set of FOX as well....and Humber Hawk wheels....oh, and a set of landrover wheels too.

Done (I have a spare spare in the garage) the OEM 17" alloy with a new tyre fitted (and full of air) is 23kgs according to the bathroom scales......
