5inch Ppc Based Navigation Inside The Top Glove Box

Greeting to all forum members.

I am 7 days away from becoming again a happy new Toyota owner, second car in a row, previously a RAV4, executive, 2.0 petrol, now corolla verso 2.2 D4D Sol+. Having read some reviews, test driven the car for a weekend and gotten the approval from my wife and 20 months old son, I bargained my deal with the local Toyota dealer (Sofia, Bulgaria) to slightly more than 39k BGN, slightly more than 18.5k GBP

Strangely enough, I don't even have the car but already think of a small mod. I am contemplating on the options of fitting a GPS navigation system somehow "nicely" in the car, e.g. in the glove box on top of the dash board, with some mechanics to automatically lift the device once the lid is open. I plan to purchase the following:

http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.21039

Now to the questions part:

has anybody been able to fit PPC based navigation in the space before? Any other suggestions? Is the original navigation any good?

Happy versoing to all :)

cheers

Michail

I know this is probably criminal to all you skilled modders e , but I have a very basic Tomtom one that I keep stashed away in the top box and when I want to use it, I take it out and it is just the right size to prop up between the base of he top box and the lid, when the power lead is in

I do not like the 'stick in on the screen' setups as well the fact they are thief magnets

Its rough & cheap, but works well for me as i only need satnav occasionly

Thanks

Dave
