1998 Rav4 3 Door - Rear Speakers Anyone?

I have just gotten hold of a fine example of a 3 door 98 Rav4 in Silver and would like to go about putting some hefty Speakers in it, however...where in any normal hatch you would have a parcel shelf, etc... In the rav...there is nothing?! :(

Has anyone got any suggestions for gettings a decent set of 6x9's in a 98 rav?

various ways

- take the 2 rear seats out

- stick Speakers under the rear seats, or build them into the seats - depends on whether you take rear seat passengers!

- try looking under the floor at the rear of the car - you could fit a straight through exhaust thus releasing some space to weld in an extension to the floor to fit the Speakers

- have a look at the plastic cowls over the rear wheels inside the cabin - theres not much space there but there is a little - maybe enough to fit some styles of Speakers

- make up a parcel shelf

- fit them on the underside of the roof

- buy large headphones

- buy 4 crash helmets and wire them up for sound to create yer own stadium sound (get it? stadium used to make helmets maybe still do)

- there is space in the rear wheel wells so you could cut through to fit the speakers, but you'd need to be able to seal them
