I-pod Connections

Hi,

I'm new to here and have just bought an Auris T-Spirit this week! I saw that Toyota do a kit which you can connect an i-pod and run it through the stereo with full control from the steering wheel audio controls. It regards it as a cd changer rather than the old "tune the i-pod into the radio" connections which always had to be fiddled with on long drives as local radio frequencies cut in! Looking around we found that DICE also make a similar one plus another that Halfords do, both that are cheaper than the Toyota one.

I just wondered if anyone has fitted anything to theirs and which sort they could recommend? I would prefer something that doesn't tune into a radio station and that can be controlled through the steering wheel or stereo controls rather than having to change track directly from the i-pod. I think the i-pod's we have are 4G versions. My husband will fit it at home so anything that's hard to mess up would be good to know about!!

Thanks for your help! :)

I, too, have looked at the DICE one but don't yet have the car to attempt fitting it. I think £90ish for the DICE iPod/Aux connection box and ~£70 to get someone to install it is a better deal than £170 for the Toyota equivalent and the same installation cost on top, so that's the avenue I will be exploring.

The lack of AUX-input as standard is a pain.

I can't help but imagine Toyota just use the DICE Kit and charge more, but I don't know for certain.
