Jap Imports

Was talking to a mate the other day about how my speedo only goes to 110mph and he said that Jap cars are limited.

Can you get this removed and if so, what would a celica GT do?

Cheers

try taking it to 112 mph (private road of course) prepare for it to kick in though - cos you will lose all power and you dont want anything ramming you or otherwise. if it does kick in you need one of these fitting only 4 wires to solder to back of clocks - the uk clocks go to 140 mph iirc . you may want to fit uk clocks before the next mot and declare the mileage.

if it goes beyond 112 mph its allready delimmited. top end of the 3sge iirc is something like 127 mph .

Nope, the steering won't go - it just cuts power to the engine. The engine will still however be turning because you'll be in gear, therefore the power steering pump will still be turning too. Just like if you take your foot off the gas really and let the car coast. It will be similar to when you hit the rev limiter if you've ever done that before.

All it does when it hits its limits is cut power to the throttle. I was in 4th at 112 around 5g when it hit and i just couldnt go any higher but i didnt lose any speed.

The delimiter chip you posted, will i work for a 5th gen import aswell?
