Buzzing Feeling Through Brake Pedal

Hello Everyone

I have just bought a 53 Reg Yaris VVTI-I Spirit 1.3 Automatic with 16,900 miles done, I have had a few automatics and never had this before, but when I am at a standstill I can feel a buzzing feeling through my foot from the brake pedal and have noticed this as soon as I put car into drive with my foot on pedal when starting up. Can anyone tell me if this is normal for a yaris. The car is a genuine car was bought from new and serviced at the toyota dealer. If I can find out it is a fault I can go back and get it repaired or if thats the way they are I will have to live with it, But it feels like you have pins n needles in your foot after a while. The car is brilliant by the way looks almost brand new inside and out, I test drove a new AYAGO & A DEISEL AURIS both automatics but choose the older Yaris over them both as I did not like the new mmt system and found it surged around from 1st - 2nd and the Ayago had no power at all when I went to pull out at a round about. I was on my own in it and thought if I had a car full it would hardly move at all when trying to get out at roundabouts etc. Anyway I hope someone can let me know what there automatics are like and tell me if I have a fault or not.

thanks john.

Hi, tried to reply yesterday but message failed, somehow!

I have an 02 Auto and have no such feeling. I suggest you take it back and get it rectified or at least checked out as auto boxes are quite expensive to repair! As you need to put your foot on the pedal in order to apply the gears, I recon it is a fault! :(

My uncle had this problem on his BMW M3 on his way to work one morning.

He rang the dealer from the car and took it straight around there and then.

He sat and waited in the reception whilst they took his car into the service bay to have a look.

Service Manager came in 5 mins later with a smile on his face and my uncle's electric razor in his hand!

(He used to shave in the morning whilst "parked" in a queue on the M60. It must have dropped into the footwell, turned itself on and wedged itself against the seat bracket - which then vibrated through the pedals....)

Thought I would get in first and say..... "That was a close shave!" :toast:
