I checked my email today and found I have topic reply notifications to this owners club. I have never even visited this site before.

I would like to know why (and how) someone who apparently owns a toyota starlet, has registered on this forum using my email address and, funnily enough, a user name which is the name of what I actually drive.

Is someone taking the ***** or are they trying to set me up here?

Handily I can log into this account using the 'forgotton password' feature, as it all gets sent to my email address...

IP address is useless. There is no way you will be able to trace anyone through their IP. The best you will get will be their ISP and a location somewhere in their own country. Unless you have connections with the CIA/FBI/MI5/MI6 forget it.

Whoever has registered is someone who knows you and most probably are known to you too.

Whoever has registered has registered with, or changed the deatails to, your email address. Have you highlighted your username and searched through the post made by the other person? perhaps there are clues as to who it could be.

Either way you are a member here, take the time to have a look around... you never know you might just find it usefull to you and appreciate how good the club can be.
