Power Loss And Brakes

had an engine oil leak recently. Went to garage and identified the problem. In exact term as in my invoice it says" TRACED LEAK TO ROCKER COVER BOX SEALS - REPLACED COVER AND SEALS. " There went my £375.

The problem now is, I don't know if it's just a co-incidence, as soon as I drove off from garage I felt like the car's taking time to build up the speed. On a slightly uphill road today the car nearly halted. Had to drive off on 1st gear.

And on top of that, the brakes are playing as well. If braked simultaneously, or pumped the dashboard warning light (the red circle with exclamatory sign in the middle which is usually on when handbrakes are on) for brake comes on and the brakes are jammed and hence no brakes. Nearly missed an accident yesterday.

Is it telling me to take it back to garage again cough off some more money? anybody had such experience before? any advice would have been great

thanks. :(

To roshan,

Firstly i would bring vehicle straight back to garage. But in the mean- time if you want too, remove top engine cover (plastic cover ) & make sure you have no pipes adrift to Turbo. Also diesels have to use a pump to create vacum for your brake assist, this runs of back camshaft, same again make sure nothing is a drift. Brake problem sounds like it may rest somewhere else on car from your posting.

Regards, Beagh.
