1994 Alarm Issue!

For some reason, I can't seem to be able to set the alarm in my rav without it going off when I try to get back in.

Basically I switch on alarm with the fob, get out, lock with key.

On return, I unlock with key, alarm goes off and I've got to race to the alarm switch with the fob. Not great for the neighbours when you frequently access your car in the middle of the night!

Anybody had similar issues? I'm hoping I'm missing something stupid.

what sort of fob do you have for the alarm? A square one with a red and a black button??

Had the same problem work out to be the Rav car Battery , fitted new one and all ok so might be worth checking it out ?
