I have a 97 Paseo with terminal engine failure. :ffs: :help: Getting a replacement 1.5 at reasonable cost seems non existant here in Northern Ireland. Does any one know if I can fit a standard 1.3 starlet or corolla engine without a lot of hassle? (i.e. engine & ECU)

As far as I know, the starlet engine will drop straight in. I know the Starlet turbo engine drops straight into the Sera, and it's virtually the same engine as the Seo - even the mounts don't need changing.

like Boro Sera said the mounts are the same and i think the loom bu better to check up on that. its pritty much the same engine as a 4efte engine just the stroke and cams ar diffrent. alot of the glanza/ gt owner put that engine into there cars and turboit for extra bhp and torque. anyway hope this helps

This is a late reply, just seen this post whilst seaching Google for a 5EFE.

A Toyota Starlet 4EFE will also fit your car, a couple of sensors differ but from what I understand it's not much difference. The ECU will also plug in but I'm sure your stock ECU will be ok.
