Strange Noise

Afternoon,

So far this place has been great for celica based queries and for once ive got a real puzzler.

When I accelerate, I hear a kind of whooshing noise. It also comes through a little when I lay off the pedal.

Only really noticable through lower gears but its there nonetheless.

It doenst blow like a holed exhaust its more a whoosh kind of sound, quiet though so as if it was below me but hard to be certain.

Had it serviced a few weeks ago and mechanic said it was in great nick.

Thoughts would be appreciated guys

Check your intake. Make sure the air filter is fitted properly and the air box is latched securely. Many Toyotas have a plastic box called a resonator that is supposed to quiet intake noise. My RAV has one, I don't know if your Celica does, but it couldn't hurt to check. Hope you get this sorted!
