Making Like A Tractor. Part 2

Thanks to all those who replied to previous post.

Just to updte you all.

Checked the engine oil which was not depleted at all and nothing obvious going wrong under the bonnet, all as clean as a whistle, and no exhaust smoke.

The noise has reoccured when the engine is under stress, ie pulling away on a hill, suddenly dumping foot down at high revs when in 3rd. and things like that.

The noise is most disconcerting and will last until different gear is selected.

It can happen when engine is cold or warm.

Could it be a damaged exhaust just farting when revs change??

I dunno!!

Chrissy.

having read anchormans details on dual mass flywheels , i have the feeling mine will go in the next few days great just before the easter holidays, no trips out now, i am looking on eBay for a replacment, annoyed that on a carefully driven 54 reg with 48320 miles is breaking i bought it expecting reliability. i will check the date of my manufacture but you can guess its a month or so out of 5 years old and i bet as its an 54 its not covered on the replacment scheme.

i am now going to be shorter of cash than i wanted so i cannot trade in for the newer more economical model i wanted
