Verso, First 12 Months

Just had my Verso back from it's 10,000 mile service so thought it would be a good time for some thoughts.

Following the service the car feels much better, it was starting to feel a bit wallowy and the steering was very imprecise now it feels like new.

The dealer adjusted the handbrake (they said it took too many clicks to put it on) now secure after about 3 clicks.

The dealer left 1 litre of BP oil in the car in a check up kit (oil, wipes and plastic things), whilst it is good to have some top up oil I hope this does not indicate that I will be needing to top it up on a regular basis (haven't had to so far).

Problems...

New rear bumper, thanks to a transit van driver begin far too friendly.

One ECU recall (not really a problem and performed with the service)

Most miles from a tank 519.7 but that was with the computer reading zero and the needle pretty much at empty.

Have to say the best milage feels like it is yet to come as on a recent fill up the miles covered read 507 and the computer was claiming at least another 24 miles from the tank.

Best calculated (not trip computer) mpg 50.55

Things that could be done better:

Position of the driver side centre air vent can freeze your hands when A/C is on. I find even with it angled away I have to close the vent to about a 1/4.

Arm rests not very good for getting your arms on.

Cruise control, would be nice if it remembered the speed set after a gear change (so you can resume after a maneuver).

Things that have been done well:

Dash storage areas.

Window tinting means hardly any use of a dipped rear view mirror is required.

Seat flexibility.

Acceleration.
