funny one - most of the insurers seem to have a spec on what cars have what fitted by the manufacturer.

As I haven't met Thatcham, dunno if he or she lives in the UK, then I couldn't help you on that one.

With Both Immobiliser and alarm on the key it conforms to Thatchams Cat 1 which is the highest level

Your dealer may put this in writing for you if needed, I had to on many occasion.

I think there is a seperate document with the handbook that states this as well

Hello John,

Have a look at this:Thatcham

I think your car may be listed here.

PassengerCarCAT1_1_.pdf

If not, have a trawl around the site and you should be able to find it.

There is loads of interesting stuff on the Thatcham site.

Thatcham is the The Motor Insurance Repair Research Centre set up by the Association of British Insurers.

Like Bothy, I am surprised your insurers didn't have access to the information.

Find another insurance company that does not ask such dumb questions! Catering to these dumb ***** questions just encourages them to push the envelope... where will it all end!!!
