Oil Issues

Hello,

I have just got myself a 2003 1.8 T3-X with about 50K on it.

At present it isnt using oil but i'm concerned to read all the reports of the problems people have had with this engine.

I dont have a complete service history of the car, just a stamped book really. I was wondering if there was anyway to see if the work has already been done to the car by looking at it basically.

it appears to me that parts of the engine are newer than the others, bits around the aux belt (sorry, i know that sounds really noobie!)

Thanks,

Thanks for the replies, much appreciated...

So will they change now even if it isnt actually using excessive oil at the moment? also, do they admit to this problem or do i have a fight on my hands?

friendly speaking -- YOU have to convince them with previous service -- FIRST

otherwise you'll add oil like me :)

cheers

It has to be using over 1 litre per 1000 miles before they will do anything with it (service history permitting).
