Hello.I need some help.I have a toyota granvia and have aquired a wierd speedometer and fuel gauge needle.I can be driving and then suddenly the speedometer will go to zero whilst still driving and the fuel gauge needle will go to full tank.If i tap the clear plastic on the dashboard in front of these it usually corrects itself and shows true speed and fuel, but recently banging clear plastic hasn`t been that effective.Anyone have any ideas why

hi ya, iv had a similar problem as you, only its my temp gauge and speedo does the hiccups now and then, other times its normal, other times it stops completely, not even clicking over mileage. but the rev counter has remained normal the whole time. i had my stereo fited and that when the problem started occuring. i was driving along one day when the days started doing its weird things. next minute i lost all power. i couldnt start it again, a friend came to the rescue an found i had a flat Battery. i had been driving a good hour but it never charged. he checked it out and changed the regulator, and got a new Battery cause that one was pretty old. i was back on the road but my dash still had the same fault. nearly a week later, al of a sudden the same thing happened. had the alternator checked, al good. disconnected the stereo thinkin may of been wired wrong, but still have the problem of it not charging. i dont have a clue if the weird gauge readings have anything to do with it.

did you have any luck finding he prob to your dash readings.
