I bought a 2002 1.0 Yaris in December 08, only done 21000 miles, done about 27000 now. In the last few months, whenever I turn full lock right there is a clicking noise coming from the front left wheel, it's starting to get worse and sometimes doing it when I'm normally turning not just full lock. I haven't noticed it when turning full lock left though as far as I remember. Has anyone else has this problem and how do I sort it? I'm a proper girlie girl who has no idea about car mechanics but I am getting a bit worried bout driving it now!! Thanksss xx

Sounds like your CV joint is on it's way out. I have exactly the same problem, only on both sides. There is a thread I started in this folder about it. Prices for new ones from Toyota are pretty big money so I'm currently looking into non-genuine alternatives. I've been told it's when thye start clicking all the time you need to really worry.

If it's a steady click-click-click sound rather than a scrape, rattle or knock, then it probably is the cv joint as described above.

Find a big empty car park or industrial estate where you can drive round in circles on full lock as this will help you to better diagnose the problem.

I concur! It sounds ominousely like a C.V. joint to me! ( I swallowed a dictionary last night)! (Tonight, I may swallow a spell checker)!
