Previa Boot/tail Gate Wont Lock

We have tried to lock with central locking and just the boot lock itself, but can't lock it. Also tried wd40 .... anything else we can try please?

Remove the panel from the rear door and check that the linkage to the actual lock mechanism has not come adrift.
