you could do worse than read the tyre tests at www.autoexpress.co.uk

Can't fault my Conti Sport Contact 3's on my Audi A3. Very pleased with both the grip and mileage....

My Yaris 1.3 SR has 195/50 Dunlop SP Sport on 16" wheels and they seem fine, but haven't really pushed it....

What ever tyres you buy, put them on the back and the back ones on the front

Why?

This is what i did with mine, bought 2 new avon's and had them on the rear. The fronts are still ok.

The point is that most small cars handle really well but when they "let go", it's allways the rear's that go first causing you to spin out esp in the wet.

It's allways best to replace all 4 but alas there's allways the costs.

The good news is you have VSC so if the rear lets go and the front sticks then the car will correct itself before you realise what’s going on

  • 2 weeks later...

take it to Toyota... under their fixed price service plan you can get premium tyres for alot cheaper than most other retailers (i'm saying most, because i haven't checked ALL other places, but when I was scouting around, Toyota was considerably cheaper). It just specifys Yaris, with no clause that it doesn't count if you've got bigger / wider wheels. Great times.

Got Hankook tyres fur nothing :D all good :D i'm wanting a new gear knob though !! cheers dudes :D

Why not get a nice aluminium gear nob and matching handbrake sleeve; very nice feel and looks very smart (although very cold in the winter). Was standard in my old Civic Type R and have fitted the same in my MX5 Sport, seems to suit sporty motors and looks classy.

yumma
