Avensis D4d Oil Change Advice

Hi folks,

Going to change the oil in my sisters car (2004 Avensis D4D 2 litre) in the next couple of weeks. She hasn't had it that long and i haven't done it in this car yet (always did it for her in her old Carina).

Can anyone let me know if there is anything different between the Avensis and the Carina (in general). Any nasty covers that i need to remove or is it a straight forward sump screw & oil filter?

The car is 70 miles away so don't want to arrive to discover i can't do it due to needing a tool or something!

Also - does anyone know the size & type of the sump screw off hand?

Many thanks all.

hello

I deem you need the following:

- oil ---- ltrs;

- filter + filter wrench;

- new drain plug gasket;

- flash oil in case of necessity

*** in case of the bottom cover is installed - you need to unscrew it .

no big diference with cars, in fact.

cheers

Igor

Dont know about the 2.0 Avensis but mine also has the under covers but to get to the oil filter you take off one bolt and behind the black plastic flap is the oil filter. Much better than on the VW cars where you have to take the whole tray off just to get to the sump plug!

Super - thanks for the advice folks.

Does anyone know what size/type the sump screw is?

he - try to insert your VIN on here (www.toyodiy.com)

may be this will give you the size of this bolt head and type.

cheers/Igor
