Swine/pig Flu

MY wife refused to fill our Rav today fearing she might contact swine flu, I had to explain the problems in Mexico, not Texaco :D

According to some specialist on the news this morning, the symptoms of swine flu are similar to that of the flu. The most vulnerable are the very young and elderly but other than that the rest of us should be okay, providing that we're fit and healthy and all that.

To the almighty creator of this thread, if memory serves me correctly, medical, hygiene and dietary standards along with a load of other things aren't as good as they are today. Hence why a lot of people died. Nowadays you've got some pretty nifty medication, an array and easy access to healthy food and good doctors too. Undoubtedly, some will die because of this outbreak but I don't think it'll be in the thousands.

On another note, did the Mexicans name it after the Americans? Swine flu... Like the Cubans with "Bay of Pigs"?... Don't take me seriously... Only joking.

My daughter logged on to her college website , and there is a statement, stating that the college will be closed for a minimum of one week & untill further notice as one of the students are suspected of having swine flu , upon reading the message my daughter began cheering , yey no college for at least a week . ( What about the poor student ? ) Thats kids for you !

however the message has turned out to be the work of a prankster who had managed to hack into the principals e-mails , my daughter has also recieved a text message on her phone from the college stating this to be the case , and her elation soon turned to a feeling of resignation Ha ha
