New Head Gasket On Gt4 Now Tears

first of could i start by saying hello to everyone i just joined up and hope someone can gimmie a helping hand so thanks to all who take the time to read this and reply

i have a 1992 celica GT4 and was all working ok for months when i was diagnosed with needing a new head gasket so i had it booked in to the garage and several hundred pounds lighter i drove her home no problems now when i came out the other morning the car just constans turns over with spark have checked this and fuel from fuel line checked this also but no ignition bang lol so all i get is a flat Battery after a while so i checked the ecu for error codes and all is ok and now i have started the car with a struggle but there seems to be no power i cant rev over 30000 revs the dunp valve spits out at 30000 revs then dulls down seems like the car has no power at all any suggestions will be gratefully appreciated thank you John

Cam belt may have jumped a tooth so that timing is out.

where in ayrshire are you mate? i'll pop over and give you a hand. could be timings out or something else, take the DV out of the equation to start

thanks m8 yeh its a sore one been like that for a month now at my wits end going to strobe the t/b today see what its like cheers hope t hear from you when you get back m8 have a good hol :)

ok folks just a quick update and to say thanks to all whom have replied

i have looked at the timing well as good as my expertise will let me lol and after flooring the accelerator by accident yesterday we have a car that now still sits and wont go over 3000 revs but occasionally it will i have also noticed what i think is maybe an oil leak at the turbo im not sure so im just gonna leave it t ill i can get someone to look at it as i dont wanna hurt it anymore im just hoping GTForbes might be able to help when he gets back from hols jammy sod weather sux up here in Scotland if anyone has any thoughts or ideas they are welcome thank you all.............

I'm sure he will be able to fix it as he used to own the same car and knows his stuff so don't worry. Just buy a 30 quid banger to run around in ha.

hey mate, back from my holidays, kinda busy at the minute but will get in contact tomorrow to sort out a time to pop over.

just to rub it in, weather was great! lol

least you got some good weather m8 hope it was nice better than sunny old ayrshire here a quick update m8 i have the car turned over no problem and everything is workin ok except it wont tick over so i dont wanna ***** about with the timmin or owt as im no the best at it but im sure well i hope its all thats wrong with it temp is holdin ok so just fingers crossed hear from you when you free m8 thanks a lot :D

hey there everyone a big hand out to gtforbes for takin the time to come see my bus and pointing me in the right direction after many problem solving tasks i have finally got it down to being the timing out by one tooth i am having problems with the slide plunger so its away to work for the vice treatment today i hope to fire it back together tonight or tomorrow and will let you know what we get fingers n anythin else we can cross again cheers GTforbes

here a quick update had to strip down the timming pulleys as the tensioner was solid lol lined it all up last night after sorting this and poof first turn sweet as a nut she sounds good and idles great so im going to treat her to some nice premium petrol again and tick her over today at some point and i will post any problems i find again thank you to all whom helped me over the past few hair pulling weeks i will update tomorow sometime also if anyone has a passengers rear quarter window for my gtr 1992 i am hunting for one after our local neds had a go thanks John B)
