Chip Upgrade

Hi guys,

can anyone give me advice on chipping my newly aquired White SR180 with full motorsport body kit and matching white wheels ?

It may sound daft, but I am looking for better mpg over performance as mpg is awful.

the car has done 8000 miles.

Appreciate any help.

Paul

you should be getting 35 mpg town driving/sub urban driving and 45 mpg at least when driving on country roads and motorways

Dont chip it, get a plug in and play unit from somewhere like this German seller. Chipping is easily detected thus potentially invalidating the warranty, plug in and play is a 5 minute install and is less likely to leave anything on the ECU.

Hi, thanks for the reply, I am driving on Dual Carriageway x 26 miles averaging 34 -5 mpg and driving at no more than 55 - 70 but cannot seem to improve on it, otherwise, love the car.

I do wonder the sr180 guys here all seem to have fuel consumption in the 30's. I think nearly every sr180 owner is the same.

However, like me there are a few t180 owners here and it seems to me that the t180 guys are a bit more successful with the fuel consumption.

So i wonder whether that rear spoiler or possibly the slightly lower stance affects anything as the official figures were calculated on a t180.

My local service manager arrogantly told me "Well mine (SR180) only got 32mpg, whats your problem?" Every person in the dealership said 33-39 on the 2.2 is normal. They didnt say anything about the T being different. Funny how they bigged up the economy before I bought it!

Could it be the computer is wrongly reporting differences? I am sure the engines, weight and aerodynamics are the same?

I am glad the weather is good I am reporting 3-5mpg increase.

oh yes, unless you shove the a/c on like me and turn the car into a rolling fridge, but saying that i still get good mpg, i let the car go in cruise control alot of the time, thats my secret

Hi, that's interesting, the salemans response to me when I challenged their 45mpg claim was "well, you have bought a high performance car Paul"

I guess he is happy with his commission!!

Thanks
