Removal Of Tailgate - Help Please

Hi, my son has had a slight accident and severly damaged the rear tailgate on our blue 2002 five door Yaris. Finding a replacement and fitting it does not look too difficult, except for the electrical connection on the top offside.

This appears to be some kind of connector but I cannot figure out how to disconnect it. Can anyone help please?

Thank you

Bob Fuller

Thanks nickp8 I have downloaded the manuals but they don't appear to cover tailgate removal. I can see the wires go from the tailgate into the main body of the car and that there is a white plug that goes into the main car but the wires just go through that so I was wondering where the pug was to diconnect the tailgate as there must be one. As far as I can see there is no plug in the tailgate so I am assuming there is one in the top of the car at the back but I am not sure where.

Regards

The electrical wiring routing pdf shows all the connections. Looks like the connection is under the right centre pillar.
