Hi guys!

Some of you know that I have found and put down a deposit on a 91 rolla GTi B)

However, ther are a few things that I will need to do to sort it out (personal tastes and all). Before anyone gets their knickers in a knot, I still need to do a search through topics on the forum.

1] There is currently a custom through-flow stainless zorst system fitted. It is from the down-pipe onwards. I don't think it has much of a silencer on it if any as it's extremely loud. I need to establish the legalities of zorst noise. I also want it a lot quieter. I know I can throw in another silencer. I also know that I can swap it (plus a couple of squid) for something closer to stock. The down-pipe is also apparently blowing which will need sorting, but will this also reduce loudness?

2] Rust. There are a few spots in the usual places - around the arches and on the bottom corners of the rear window just under the spoiler. Sugguestions of repair and prevention of further rusting would be helpfull as I have never had to deal with this sort of restoration before.

3] The rear suspension may be on it's way out as it's a little soft. I know fesport offer suspension bits. Any suggestions welcome here too.

1) the blowing downpipe will wreck performance and sound *******, it will be loud with a blow but some after market x-orts are made to sound like 'club signing nova's' and are *******, most people forget to put the restrictors into new stainless exhausts and run srtaight 2-2.5" systems front to back, youcan kill the noise and boost performance by fitting a small cone shaped peice of stainless at the input to the front box to reduce the pipe ID from whatever it is to 1.5" to severly reduce noise in the cabin area. Else you can fit one or two of the same cones into the tailpipe(s) if the noise is just loud out the back ?

2) remove the spoiler and seal around the window trim and mor importantly spoiler bolt holes with sealant to prevent moisture getting inside the talgate skins and running down the sides of the window and rotting the bottom corner out (reminds me i must do mine LOL..)

3) order your suspension parts from Australia online - its loads cheaper and arrives in 4-5 days (which is quite often quicker than most UK companies !)

Try http://www.whiteline.com.au/ I have found these to be very helpfull.
