Just did the 2 mile drive home from work and the roads are pure ice.

Came to a hill with a parked car at the bottom and I realised that I couldnt stop.. managed to steer clear and stop on a gritted patch. Shame the whole road wasnt gritted :ffs: :censor: :ffs:

So I got onto the main road thru town and it was just as worse.. my legs were like jelly and I was really pooing myself..

Managed to get the MR2 back home with no prangs! I dont think I'll be taking it to work tomorrow.

Glad I have off road parking.. saw a parked cavalier smashed to bits after one of our lorries slid into it. They left a note on what was left of the windscreen!

Roll on Summer!

That reminds me..

It took me 10 mins to get my drivers door open.. the glass was stuck to the rubber.. thought I was gonna pull the door handle off!

Ended up wedging my key in to part it from the rubber. My mate in his astra was ripping on me because his door opened up first try.

thats the only way a Astra has got a point up against your '2' though.. lol

I have the same problem every morning.. but my tints im worried about as they might rip off... as they are stuck against the rubber...

anyone ever tried some slight grease on the rubber to stop it happenin?

think it will work?

I dont like the idea of having greasy bit at the top or the glass or on the rubber.

It was a pain tho.

Cut and paste from a UK tinting company,

Driver, front passenger and windscreen must comply with new visible light transmission regulations. Driver and front passenger minimum 70% V.L.T and windscreen min 75% V.L.T.

ooooooooh....

by the sound of your post title I thought you had a prang !!

Crappy in this weather !!

I was skidding all over the place everytime I braked to a halt on the way home.. no matter how soft I used the brakes, there was just no grip.

Hopefully it'll be alright tomorrow morning ! I have to drive to work at 5.30am ! If it's snowing tonight, the gritters had better bluddy be out in force early tomorrow !

is that pretty light then ??

I was thinking of only getting my rear quarters done anyway.

I think the main reason for tints becomming illegal is due to the fact that such windows can conceal things like guns etc....

On topic, not looking forward to tomorrow morning at all and I'm in Bath!!! You guys in Scotland must be really feeling it. On a brighter note, the forecast currently suggests things are to get a lot warmer on Friday.....

I remember seeing something on TV a few months ago about this. They had a mondeo with what I considered to be fairly light tinting, but this failed the test they did on the glass.

If you are thinking about getting the rear windows done, IMO it looks daft when the front half of a car is clear and the rear is Black. Makes you look like a Taxi or something (seeing as I have an Avensis I don't really have to try at that do I?). With the MR2 though you might just get a way with it as there isn't too much glass rear of the seats.

Getting back on track: I'm considering walking to work tommorow. I've got 100% confidence in my ability to drive safely, it's just the rest of the muppets out there who I'm afraid of. If I do go out I'll be doing about 10mph all the way to work.

I'm not sure, I used to have mirrored tinting on the rear window (came with the car) I took it off, it looks naff in my opinion - too Max Power....
