Avensis D4d Oil Change

Hi Folks,

I'm new to this forum. I have a 2004 D4D Avensis Tourer and am well pleased with the reliability and general motoring it gives me. I want to change the oil myself and got the genuine parts (oil and filter) from the Toyota dealer.

The first question is:

Do I need to remove the plastic undershield under the engine to get to the oil filter and sump drain plug?

The second question is:

Where can I get a manual for this car (Haynes don't seem to do one and I've only got the glovebox manual that tells you how to empty the ashtray and suchlike)?

Any help much appreciated.

Thanks.

hello

for safety reasons you'd remove undershield. Once changed oil filter - you should check with oil leakages (if any) after have started the engine.

as to manual - wait for others suggestions.

cheers/Igor

I’ve had a look under my car don’t know if they are different but their is already a cut out where the sump is so you don’t have to remove anything. The oil filter as far as i know is behind a little cut out that is held with one bolt. Take the bolt out and you can see the oil filter. I’m sure they are paper filters now rather than the metal housing ones.

I've found the little flap under the oil filter. The job seems straight forward enough then.

Thanks for your help guys.
