:help: Hi everyone, this has probably been asked many times(?) but can anyone tell me if there is any differences between the crankshaft(bottom)pulleys for the 2ltr tt (1g-gte) and the 3ltr turbo? i've got a slight knock and believe its a common thing for thr rubber dampener in the pulley to perrish? i think a 3ltr one will much easier to come by but if it won't fit obviously it's no good. any advice greatfully received. thanx.

From memory they are different, if you can check on the EPC or similar I have a Spare 7M-GTE one, and a 1G IS200 one.

In all honesty knocking on a 1G is usually the big ends. Does it get loudest at about 1700-2300 rpm? Unfortunately if these engines are not reguarly serviced properly, oilways get blocked and big ends fail!

hi karma, volume of the knocking varies, no specific rpm makes it louder at any point. while engine is running if you look down the front of the engine you can see the pulley has a definate wobble. :pepsi:

If you can actually see it wobbling thats a fair indication then!

Are you sure the bolt is tight??

One of our supras had a real issue with the crank pulley bolt coming undone all the time.. thread lock or not it seemed to just come undone! -the knocking also sounded almost exactly like failed big ends :o
