i got my new auris 09 model a few days a go, the day i recieved it i put it £10 of petrol from Shell.

i went again today to put some more in but after about 2seconds it clicked and cut off. i tried about 4 times but i wouldnt stop doing it

my engine was just under a quater full, but the pump was telling me it was full

i went and paid the 79p and the guy in the station told me it was becuase i was pressing the pump too fast

so i went and tried a different pump but the same thing happened, on my 2nd try i managed to get about £3 worth in but then it cut off again

any ideas on why it won't let me fill it up?

try tilting the pump at an angle. with my car it will do it at certain pumps, so i fill up at the same one everytime now. if it does click off, i just try holding the pump at half wack, and fill up slowly

If your tank is really not full then did you try to put the pump in different angle? Maybe there is something wrong with pump mechanism (it is based on air suction). Believe or not but I had similar issue with my VW and Jet. I could not fill the tank as it kept disconnecting- only one Jet station and my Golf :D I could fill in any other car there or my car anywhere else. :D
