Auris Tr Radio Reception

I have a new Auris TR and I find the radio reception is a bit hit and miss, especially on BBC radio 4 and 2. Has anyone else had similar problems? Can you install an alternative radio? Any comments would be appreciated.

Cheers

I have the same car and no problems with reception, ensure the AF function is enabled. It follows those National radio stations and changes to the best signal automagically

Kingo

Er same thing for me, AF does not help, turning of TA seems to help a lttle but it is still pittiful compared to my other car.

The effect is silmilar to a broken suppressor in the old days, like a build up of static, clear for a while then it builds up.

Also radio 4, the local stations are OK.

I'm the opposite from you guys, the reception in my Auris is the best I've had in any of my cars.

I pinned down how to replicate the problem, mine is an 'auto', whenever you get it to change gear the electric clutch operates and causes interference.

I took the car to the local dealer and demonstrated the issue, they admitted there is a problem and revealed that there is a kit to fix it [whoever said Toyota had learned to admit problems?], but details are limited so far. The kit is just some ferrite beads so it should not be expensive, but no doubt hundred to fit.
