Turbo Not Spooling No Boost

hi can any one at all hlep me i have got a j reg import mr2 turbo the engine runs ok and the car drives but the turbo is not spooling and there is no boost the standard boost gauge in the car is just pointing down and not reading anything at all i have pulled the elbow off the turbo and you can spin it round there is no smoke coming from the exhaust please can anyone help thanks pete :( :( :(

they have a common fault where the exhaust tubine snaps off, if you unbolt lamda sensor you should be able to see if it has mate

they have a common fault where the exhaust tubine snaps off, if you unbolt lamda sensor you should be able to see if it has mate

will need the turbo replacing, a second hand turbo can be had for £150-£200 but beware that you can end up with a duff one. recon turbos stat at about £400.
