Just Debadged The Yaris

Just took the time to debadge the rear of my Yaris, looks smart.

Will look even better when it's all colour coded and has its spoiler fitted.

For anyone who isn't sure how to do it.

Firstly I used a hair dryer to unsettle the adhesive, didn't hold it over the Badge for too long as to not damage the paint work.

Once the adhesive had melted a bit, I used dental floss to prize the badges off if you like.

The adhesive was a right ball ache to get off, but with some persiverance and with the assistance of my girlfriends thumb nails, the crap came off eventually :D

Then I gave it a nice clean with some WD40 and waxed it and its come out sweeeeeet. :D

Yeah iv done mine.

Used my morrisons mile card, few slight scratches afterwards but nothing a good polish could handle haha.

i did use a hairdryer to get off the "i love my guinea pig" stickers my mum kindly put on the yaris..

:| haha

Bit off of the subject, but ive just been looking at buying the same bumper on your yaris, to put on mine so i dont have the hastle of colour coding the whole thing, do you know if it will fit? cheers.

I don't know myself mate but if you ring your local toyota dealer and tell them your reg they will be able to tell you. However, do your best not to buy body parts from Toyota; in my experience they've been really expensive. Try a breakers in your area or something.

To be honest though, I think you'd be best off getting it colour coded cos by the time you've bought the bumper and had it sprayed it your colour it will end up costing more, then again it depends if you can get the bumper in red already i suppose :D

good luck

Cheers mate.

Yeah found some on eBay going for £25 same as yours already in red. £18 p+p so not too bad really cos boyfriend will fit it for me (hopefully) just someone said that because of all the silicone in the bumper makes it harder to spray, or it just flakes off. i dont really know. ha.

So are you just colour coding the black strip bits on yours, you doing it yourself?

No the bumper from the phase 2 yaris i.e. what NWYaris has wont fit the phase 1 (1999 to early 2002) that you have. The phase 2 has a teardrop shape headlight so you would have a gap where the teardrop would be.

It would be cheaper to colour code your bumper unless you find one already in the same colour and in good condition. The Yaris bumper is in two sections a top part and bottom part so you just need to find a red top part or colour code the top part.
