Gen 7 Brakes Binding?

Hi, I've recently fitted EBC grooved and drilled discs with red stuff pads to the front of my 190 2001 Celica. They are great and perform really well however I can noticably hear the pads constantly touching the disc surface when the brakes aren't applied and it sounds like there is too much contact. The disc surface is hot after driving but not red hot. Im just wondering if the pads should touch the discs at all when not in use and if the calipers are slightly siezed?? Any advice much appreciated!

They should only get warm from braking not from constant rubbing. I would check that everything is sliding properly including the piston.

i had the same problem on my 140, and im almost certain you will have the same problem.

choke the front wheels, leave it in gear, jack up the back end release the hand brake and spin the rear wheels you should hear your noise, the disk is rubbing against the back plate which holds all your springs in place for your handbrake.

if you take your disk off you should see where its rubbing, i personally solved the problem by beating the ***** out of it with a hammer until satisfied.

however most sane people would of probally got there disk skimmed. or spaced it out e.t.c but if you still have the problem and you do decide to beat it with a hammer, im not responsible for it
