ok iv got a wierd problem

the last few days iv noticed that no matter how hard or soft i drive my st185 the rev counter wont go above 2k

its running ok an doesnt seem to hold back or anything

iv cleared the ecu with thanks to gt4 booster an took it out an the same thing is happening but no error codes an its puzzling me

has anyone else had this problem an if so how did you fix it ?

the rev counter wont go above 2k or it won't rev above it? just to be clear.

sounds like a dodgy sensor

the needle wont go above 2k, an you know yourself from the tone of the engine that its doing about 6k lol

even if your not driving just sat on tickover then rev it hard it dont rise over 2k

which sensor do you think it might be? i thought crank sensor but it dont throw any codes so its doing my head in

try unplugging the crank sensor and turning it over to see if it is it, some of the sensors that are on their way out don't completely die so don't throw up a code even when their not working as they should
