Ignition Barrel Or Switch Or Both?

First noticed recently that to start the car (old 105,000 miler), rather than turn the key fully against the stop, I had to back it off ever so slightly for it to turn over. Then it would occassionaly cut out completely in the middle of a run, no engine, no electrics, no warning lights etc. After a few or more of these 'hiccups', it was apparent that it only happened when I was either braking or changing gear, hence, when the car was 'dipping forward'. I looked at the barrel and noticed that when the car was running, the key was slightly forward of the 'on/run' detent and when the car was 'dipping' the weight of the key bunch flicked it into the run/on position and switched the car off. First course of action was to only use the single car key to avoid the stalls when braking. Next I've got to consider if I need to change the barrel, the switch or both.

Any ideas please folks?

Oh, also the radio works when the key is turned to the first poisition, but when the car starts it (the radio) goes off. I assume it's all part of the worn barrel/switch thing.
