Hi everyone. Ive had a celica st202 for about 6 months now and i love it! will be looking at upgrading/tuning parts every now and then. Anyone no if and where i could get my ecu re-mapped? also if its worth doin, roughly how much power it would add, cost etc etc?

Also if i could get hold of a gt4 spoiler with the riser blocks, would that fit straight on?

Thanks in advance

Hi mate Welcome.

You can't remap a celica ecu, you could get a piggy back or standalone ecu but its alot of money for little gain. Exhaust, decent filter and possibly a decat would see around 5-10bhp at most. Anything after that starts to get expensive.

As for gt4 raiser blocks, is your car a facelift model? ie, does it have a 3 post spoiler? If it does than you'll be looking at swapping the tailgate to the pre facelift two post spoiler, with this the raisers bolt straight on. Just a case of taking your spoiler off (3 bolts), bolt/seal the blocks to the spoiler, bolt the whole thing back to the boot lid.

ok cool thanks alot for the advise. yeah its the facelift so ill have to look into prices of a new tailgate. the spoiler seems expensive too, cheapest ive found is about £200 second hand.

as for power ive just got a k&n induction kit, sounds so nice and ive noticed a slight difference. also looked at a mongoose exhaust which i should be getting soon.

Thanks again

I wouldn't piggy back an ECU, it's absolutly pointless on a non-turbo car.

I have a stand alone ECU which cost about £600 but you need someone who knows how to tune cars via a lap top and instalation is not something you could do at home.

Anyway it was an exensive mod but I wouldn't swap it for the world. All the breathing aparatus on mine is HKS which again is very expensive but as you probably know power comes at a cost so if you aren't too fussed about massive gains then go with what you can afford and looks/sounds good.
