I had ordered an Aygo plus, but i'm now swithering whether to upgrade to a blue or black, so I called the dealer to ask if its possible to change my order. He is going to get back top me on this. (Should have decided earlier and could have haggled a bit extra on deal, no chance of this now)

Salesman said that black no longer available and platinum is replacing it, will have to check that is 2009 spec model, have still to get price confirmed. The platinum will have same spec as black, but silver metalic paint.

The cars spec is identical to the black and it is a 2009 model, but he said that there is a new price rise just announced, so another 200 on top of existing price. He also said margin was smaller so could not offer the same discount as previously.

So i'm gonna stick with the + I had ordered.

2 price rises in 6 weeks, do you think Toyota are cashing in on the increased trade with scrappage deals ?

Yup, probably to cover the cost of the VAT which noone seems to want to pay.

I suppose if you were lucky enough to order a new car before start of may, you would now have saved £450 on the current price.

I really can't believe anyone would want to opt for any other Aygo other than either of the two special editions as they are such good value for money. As for Platinum/Black, the current '2009' MY cars the Black has replaced the Platinum (both focusing on luxury) ... so if you get offered a Platinum you know it is a previous model (even if they register it on a '09' plate).

The salesman had confimred that Toyota are no longer manufacturing theBlack and that the Platinum is replacing it. So a bit like how the Black you own replaced the previous platinum. There are none of these available and the lead time I was quoted was 13 weeks. Her also said that he was going to have to notify any one who had recently ordered a black that it was no longer being manufactured.

I guess in a week or so the Toyota website will reflect both this and the new orice rise

I went for the 5-door BLUE model in the end, which is supposed to focus on Comfort and Convenience - they're not wrong, I really like the seats and the bluetooth and Manual Air-con really are a convenience.

I say go for that!

The customer I just got off the phone to was *******. She only wants black and nothing else.

Can't believe we didn't get any advanced notice that they were being discontinued and are still being advertised on the website.
